Algaecides

Traditionally, sanitisers have been used to treat and control algae but this is proving to be much less reliable as algae species become more diverse and resistant. This leads us to the need for control agents designed specifically to counter the defence mechanisms algae has developed to protect itself.

Even if we can’t see them, algae spores are always present and when they become active, they thrive on wastes in the water and dramatically multiply in numbers. It is important to control algae in swimming pools for health, safety and aesthetic reasons. An algae-infested swimming pool is also an expensive and frustrating problem to correct.

Algi Destroyer

BioGuard Algi Destroyer is an effective destroyer of stubborn algae infestations, especially green and black spot algae. By combining two active ingredients into one formula, a double action attack eradicates algae swiftly and successfully. Polygard Concentrate

BioGuard Polygard Concentrate is a non-foaming polyquat algae preventative and algaecide that is excellent for use in pools with attached spas, fountains, or jetted returns.

AlgiGuard

BioGuard AlgiGuard is a highly effective quat-based algaecide that lowers surface tension to help repel ducks and insects. It also works well with chlorinating products to prevent a wide variety of algae.

MSA Extreme

BioGuard MSA Extreme is a patented, non-staining, highly concentrated copper-based algaecide powerful enough to kill all types of algae in swimming pools.

It is formulated to insure against instances of ‘green hair’, water discolouration and pool surface staining so often encountered with copper-based algaecides.
