The inverter technology works by constantly measuring water temperature and adjusting the speed of the heaters compressor and fan, ensuring the most efficient setting to match heat loss. On start-up, the unit slowly ramps up compressor and fan speed based on accurate measurements of inlet water temperature, air temperature and the preset temperature.
Then as the water temperature nears your set-point temperature, the unit slows down and reduces heating capacity. In contrast, a traditional header always works at full power turning on and off based on the set temperature drawing much more power, trying to keep the water within the set temperature range. The consistent, low power draw of an inverter pool & spa heater is much more efficient and economical.

What is COP?
The coefficient of performance or COP of a heat pump, refrigerator or air conditioning system is a ratio of useful heating or cooling provided to work required. Higher COPs equate to higher efficiency, lower energy consumption and thus lower operating costs.
